I know that race has nothing to do with anything, because good music is good music, but lets all be blunt. It is more rare(not as much today but still not the norm) for a white mc to be dope than a black MC.And even if you are not a stereotypical,close-minded person, when a rapper is dope and hes white, you think about that more than if a black mc where the same, because its not that much of a rarity. Anyways heres my top 5 that I could think of right now.(Mostly new-school)
1.Macklemore
2.Slug(of Atmosphere)
3.Brother Ali
4.Grieves
5.Mac MillerEDIT! Mac miller has been replaced by aesop rock, cant believe i forgot about him
6.Yelawolf (because I like him as a rapper and person, and see his talent, but just really don't enjoy his music tbh. But I respect he has talent probably more so than Wac Miller does now, but Mac made a lot of good music before, and I just can listen to it moreso than I can Yelawolf)
Can someone recomend some old-school white MCs, im talking before 2000, because there hard to find besides Marky Mark, Vanilla Ice, and that House of Pain guy.Thank you
